Buyer Rights & Escrow Guarantee

Buyer Protection & Inspection Policy

Effective Date: July 22, 2026 | Document Revision: 2.5 | Statutory Basis: US UCC § 2-602 (Inspection Rights), EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), UK CRA 2015

1. Escrow Funding Guarantee

Every purchase on FURRT is backed by our Escrow Funding Guarantee. When you accept a custom quote or purchase a catalog item, your funds are secured 100% in an escrow account managed by Escrow.com. Sellers do not receive final payout until delivery is confirmed and your statutory inspection window concludes without dispute.

2. Mandatory 48-Hour Inspection Window (UCC § 2-602)

Upon carrier delivery confirmation (DELIVERED), Buyers possess a mandatory 48-hour inspection window to uncrate, assemble, and inspect the furniture for structural integrity, specification conformance, and transit casualties.

If no dispute is logged within 48 hours, the order automatically transitions to COMPLETED, triggering final escrow disbursement to the Seller.

3. Freight Damage Claim Protocol & BOL Annotation

Buyers MUST inspect external freight packaging in the presence of the delivery driver prior to signing the Bill of Lading (BOL) delivery receipt.

1. If packaging shows visible damage, write "PACKAGING DAMAGED UPON RECEIPT" directly on the carrier's BOL document before signing.

2. Take clear photographic evidence of the unopened pallet, damaged crating, and furniture defect.

3. Submit the photos and BOL copy to the dispute portal within 48 hours to freeze escrow release.

4. Non-Conformance Claims & Remedies

A Buyer may reject a custom commission if: (a) dimensions deviate by more than ±0.5 inches from agreed CAD blueprints; (b) material species deviates from quote contract (e.g., pine delivered instead of black walnut); or (c) structural instability renders the item unfit for ordinary use under UCC § 2-314.
